Solo Show of Amin Shojaei

Opening on 11th April 2025
On View until 25th April 2025

Amin Shojaei is an artist whose practice is focused on research and creating meaning in the field of the natural environment. He has had numerous group and solo exhibitions in this field, focusing on plant life, and through plant morphology, he studies various aspects of the relationship between humans and the environment and from an artist’s perspective. This collection includes three different facets of his works; studying germination and plant growth, formation of rocks and corals, phenomenological aspects and his own highly emotional approach.
This exhibition is the result of the artist’s lived experience with nature, especially among the oceanic cliffs and mangrove forests in southern Iran. The works were created with an observational approach and direct engagement with the wetland and follow a mythical and documentary narrative line. The connection between the lagoon and life and his focus on the mythical Tree of Life, Toba, that floated on the bed of Sea of FarakhKert, is an entry to the artist’s standpoint. He attempts to restore damaged biological textures, as an act of recovery and healing and follows this trait in his approach. Along this path, rocks, mangrove trees, and sea waves collide and simultaneously create the lyrical atmosphere of the paintings and a promise of coexistence of Humanity and nature.
